Local Grants Manager Consultant

ERIM is a not-for-profit organisation based in Lyon, France. We implement innovative projects to promote human rights and strengthen independent media and civil society. The ERIM approach emphasises partnerships with local development organisations to bring about change through training, partnerships, education, research and sub-granting schemes.
As part of the “ProElect – Promote accountability in Electoral processes in EaP through increased participation and capacity of civic actors” project, run by the Transatlantic Foundation in partnership with ERIM, with funding from the European Union, we are looking for an experienced Grants Manager consultant to support ERIM in overseeing the implementation of Financial Support for Third Parties (FSTP) in Armenia.
The Role
The consultant is expected to start in May 2025 and support ERIM over an estimated 20-month period with an average of 4 working days per month, with potential adjustments according to the project needs.
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in grant management, connected to local civil society organisations (CSOs) networks.
The estimated daily rate is 110 EUR.
The Mission
The work of the consultant will be to assist ERIM in grant management, including for the selection, assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the FSTPs, as well as in liaising with beneficiaries.
Main responsibilities and tasks
In coordination with ERIM team, the consultant will be responsible for:
- Developing calls for applications and translating them into Armenian,
- Disseminating calls for applications including through online publication,
- Participating in the selection of grantees,
- Drafting grant contracts for selected CSOs,
- Liaising with the selected CSOs,
- Ensuring monitoring and evaluation of the grants, tracking grants outputs and outcomes, reporting on progress and challenges faced to identify corrective measures, etc.
- Reviewing grantees’ narrative and financial reports and keeping all documents in an orderly filing system,
- Collecting, editing and translating action materials before uploading on the European Commission’s Digitool platform,
- Providing inputs for quarterly and yearly narrative reports,
- Organising information sessions and monitoring visits,
- Coordinating with ERIM staff and consultants on events and training.
Essential criteria
- Formal education – degree/masters in a relevant field of study (law, human rights, development, project management, social studies, international relations, etc.) and/or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- At least three years’ experience in grant management.
- Excellent knowledge of the local civic context.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
- A strong network of contacts in the fields of civil society development, human rights promotion and/or media development.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Armenian is mandatory.
- Proactive, solutions focused, and able to work independently.
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
