“Food Safety and Quality Management training and advisory services for SMEs” Program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the “Food Safety and Quality Management Training and Advisory Services for Agribusiness SMEs” Program designed to address critical challenges faced by Armenian agribusiness SMEs in meeting international food safety and quality standards, enhancing their competitiveness in global markets. This initiative is a part of the Building Sustainable Apparel and Agribusiness Value Chains in Armenia” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Centre.

About the Program։

These workshops aim to equip SMEs with the knowledge, tools, and practical guidance needed to improve food safety standards and achieve certifications such as ISO 22000:2018, ISO 22002/1, FSSC 22000, and BRC standards, which are essential for accessing and succeeding in export markets.

The Program will consist of two interconnected and complementary workshops along on-site GAP analysis with individual advisory services of selected SMEs tailored to address company-specific food safety compliance issues.

  • Workshop 1: Introduction to Food Safety Standards (1 day)
  • On-Site GAP Analysis and Maturity Assessments of 10 selected SMEs
  • Workshop 2: Advanced Training for Quality Managers (3 days)

Why Attend?

Many export markets, particularly in the EU, require strict adherence to food safety and quality standards. Compliance with these standards is a prerequisite for entering and thriving in these markets. As international buyers increasingly prioritize safety and quality, Armenian SMEs need to meet these demands to maintain and expand their market share. Certification ensures credibility, builds trust, and opens doors to long-term partnerships.

When and where? Feb-March 2025 in Yerevan, with the exact dates and location to be confirmed.

Target Audience and participation procedure: SMEs aiming to build a strong foundation in food safety management systems and certification processes.

The number of places for these workshops is limited. Priority will be given to export-oriented SMEs with strong growth potential engaged in production of dried fruits, herbs and teas, confectionery and canned food.
