“All about Sourcing of Fabrics and Yarns” training for SMEs working in apparel and fashion sectors

The training and sourcing mission are part of the “Building Sustainable Apparel and Agribusiness Value Chain in Armenia” Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC).
Where and When? Training will take place in Yerevan in November 2024 (tentative dates are November 4-8).
About the Training:
This 5-day training program, developed by leading experts in the textile industry, will provide fundamental knowledge on the identification and characteristics of various fibers, yarns, as well as woven and knitted fabrics. Participants will learn fabric quality inspection methods and engage in practical exercises during the quality control process. The training will also offer comprehensive information on implementing effective sourcing strategies, helping companies transition from the CMT (cut-make-trim) format to a full-service business model by taking on fabric selection and sourcing responsibilities.

The application is open to all SMEs operating in the apparel fashion sector of Armenia. Selection will be based on the exporting capacities and growth potential of SMEs to ensure a fair and thorough selection process.
Priority will be given to SMEs that participated in the Baseline Survey organized by the ITC Armenia team during March-April 2024․
Project will cover all costs related with the training.

The “Building Sustainable Apparel and Agribusiness Value Chains in Armenia” project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Center and in close coordination with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. The agribusiness and apparel sectors were identified as viable priority sectors for assistance in Armenia.
The assistance addresses a strategic priority in Armenia – enhancing value addition and achieving a more diversified export basket in products and markets. Emphasis of the Project is on expanding trade links and seizing unexploited distribution channels, such as e-commerce.
