EU supports establishment of libraries in rural Armenia

The EU Delegation to Armenia has supported the establishment of the Kaleidoscope rural libraries in Kaps, Marmashen, Mayisyan, and Ashotsk communities, and a youth centre with a library in Pemzashen community, the Delegation announced.

These initiatives were implemented by Local Action Groups (LAGs) as part of the EU LEAD4Shirak project.

“Libraries are more than shelves of books — they are spaces where young people learn, connect, and discover new opportunities,” the EU Delegation to Armenia said in a Facebook post.

On the occasion of Europe Day, EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos donated copies of the Armenian translation of a novel by Greek writer Costas Taktsis to the libraries in the three LAG communities.
