Young people are at the heart of the European Union’s cooperation with Armenia

How we make it happen?
We don’t just talk about youth empowerment—we build the platforms to drive it. Through flagship initiatives like the Young European Ambassadors and the Youth Advisory Council, the European Union is putting real tools, resources, and bridging connections directly into the hands of Armenia’s next generation.
Discover how you can connect, lead, and spark change below.
Young European Ambassadors
YEAs
The Young European Ambassadors initiative is a massive network connecting young people from the EU and Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia included – to connect, swap ideas, and dive into the issues that matter. The initiative focuses on making EU cooperation more visible and easier to understand, while encouraging young people to take an active role in their communities and shape the future together. Launched by the EU in 2016, this movement has already involved over 2,500 young people from 30+ countries.
Youth Advisory Council
YAC
A crew of 25 young leaders from Yerevan and every region across Armenia, ensuring diverse voices from all over the country are front and center. This council acts as the ultimate link between Armenian youth and the EU Delegation, while staying in constant loop with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. Launched in June 2025 through the EU-funded “Support in Cultural and Youth Activities” project, the Board has been officially active since August 2025.
CHECK OUT THE YAC!
Youth Advisory Council provides the strategic oversight and practical coordination needed to make sure youth work is both inclusive and impactful. Through constant meetings and field-based vibes, members share real-life perspectives and give direct feedback on EU policies and projects. Before diving into the deep end, the council pinpointed three major challenges facing young people in Armenia to guide their advocacy. Since August 2025, YAC has been on a year-long research mission across Yerevan and the regions, teaming up with local governments and CSOs to analyse the biggest issues on the ground. These findings are packed into quarterly reports that lead up to a final deep-dive intended to shape future laws and initiatives. By staying active at EU events and hitting the road for regional visits, the YAC keeps young voices at the center of the EU-Armenia partnership.

WHAT DO YEAs DO?
Young European Ambassadors organise YEA-led social media campaigns and public diplomacy activities, workshops, ideathons, pub quizzes, meetings, school visits, fairs, Europe Days or Instagram live debates, online bingos, vlogs, takeovers and much more. The YEAs have the chance to represent their countries at meetings with high-level EU officials, contribute to policy discussions by participating in a variety of EU events, including European youth forums and Eastern Partnership conferences. The Young European Ambassadors initiative offers volunteering, career building and young leadership opportunities to its network members․
