Opening ceremony of the Solis power plant

The EU Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin attended the “Opening ceremony of the Solis power plant” in Partizak. The new solar plant is expected to generate enough power to sustain 2000 Armenian households annually while also decreasing CO2 emissions with as much as 3200 tons per year. The Solis power plant is the first project financed by the EU-Armenia SME Equity Fund managed by Amber Capital. So far, this Fund has attracted USD 50 million for investment and acceleration of Armenian businesses. “The Solis plant showcases the potential in the renewables sector and the potential for sustainable finance and investments in Armenia. The EU is committed to supporting the country and its private sector on the path to green recovery” mentioned Ambassador Wiktorin at the launch event.
