New funding opportunities for hands-on training in 3D cultural heritage open in Horizon Europe-associated countries | Apply by October 29

20/10/2026

The EU-funded 3D-4CH project is supporting the development of practical digital skills in Europe’s cultural heritage sector through a new Training Synergy Call to support hands-on training activities and foster knowledge exchange across Europe’s cultural heritage community.

The call will support up to six training initiatives with €5,000 each, enabling organisations and professionals to design and deliver workshops aligned with the 3D-4CH curriculum.

The curriculum addresses the lifecycle of 3D cultural heritage projects, from planning and digitisation to data management, preservation and reuse. Applicants can select topics that match their expertise and the needs of their target audiences.

The initiative is open to applicants from EU Member States and Horizon Europe-associated countries (including Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine), including museums, archives, universities, research institutions, public authorities, technology providers and independent professionals.

Training activities must include practical, in-person components and may be organised as standalone workshops, a series of sessions or as part of existing events. Funded activities will take place between January and October 2027.

The 3D-4CH Online Competence Centre in 3D for Cultural Heritage, co-funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme, provides access to training, standards, best practices and digital tools. The project aims to help cultural heritage institutions adopt 3D technologies, improve the quality and reuse of digital heritage content, and bridge the gap between technological innovation and practical applications.

As part of these efforts, 3D-4CH has launched a Training Synergy Call, implemented by project partner Time Machine Organisation (TMO), to support hands-on training activities and foster knowledge exchange across Europe’s cultural heritage community.

The deadline for applications is 29 October.
