More EU in Armenia: Young European Ambassadors conclude nationwide outreach week in Aparan

16/04/2026

Today, 50 Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) concluded in Aparan a nationwide outreach week in Armenia, aimed at fostering cross-border dialogue and exchange between young people from the EU Member States and Armenia, and promoting the EU in Armenia.

From 11 to 16 April, YEAs from Armenia and the European Union carried out a series of activities across the regions of Armenia, highlighting the message of ‘More EU in Armenia’ through visits to universities, NGOs, EuroClubs and EU-funded initiatives.

“Meeting peers from Armenia and across Europe reminded me how much we share despite our different backgrounds. These exchanges make the idea of a connected Europe feel real and meaningful,” said Mireia Brunet, a Young European Ambassador from Spain.

Today, YEAs met with EuroClubs and local youth at the Aparan Youth Alliance. This was followed by a World Café discussion and a collaborative community mural activity attended by the EU Ambassador, marking the 10th anniversary of the Young European Ambassadors initiative.

The campaign officially started in Yerevan on 12 April, with an event led by Young European Ambassadors. The event featured an open dialogue with Tereza Vorlova, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. and Head of the Political, Press and Information Section at the EU Delegation to Armenia.

Aside from events in the capital Yerevan and Aparan, the week’s activities included visits to Yeghegnadzor, Goris and Tatev, ensuring outreach beyond the capital and engagement with regional communities.

The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative is a non-political, voluntary, communication network connecting young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States and the United Kingdom. The aim of the network is to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern partner countries, showcase the tangible results of this cooperation, contribute to policy dialogue, increase civic activism, and work together for a better future. The YEAs initiative was created by the European Union in 2016 and has so far involved more than 2,500 young people from over 30 different countries.
