EU4Business: SMEs in Eastern Partner countries generate an extra €938.9 million in income and 89,388 new vacancies with EU support in 2025
The EU-funded EU4Business initiative has published its Citizens’ Summary 2026 for the Eastern Partnership with an overview of the major results of the past year, in the region as a whole and by country.
In 2025, 76,378 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative across the Eastern Partnership, generating an extra €938.9 million in income and 89,388 new jobs, growing turnover by 11.7%, and increasing exports by 11.8% as a result.
In Armenia, 7,590 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in 2025, generating an extra €201.6 million in income and 12,554 new jobs, growing turnover by 20.5%, and increasing exports by 7.6% as a result.
In 2025, 8,156 SMEs were supported in Azerbaijan, generating an extra €29.3 million in income and 11,416 new jobs, growing turnover by 12%, and increasing exports by 10.4% as a result.
In Georgia, 39,255 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative, generating an extra €268.1 million in income and 37,134 new jobs, growing their turnover by 9.8%, and increasing their exports by 8% as a result.
In 2025, 9,337 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in Moldova, generating an extra €215.9 million in income and 19,640 new jobs, growing turnover by 14%, and increasing exports by 9.9% as a result.
In Ukraine, 12,040 SMEs were supported, generating an extra €224 million in income and 8,644 new jobs, growing turnover by 9%, and increasing exports by 14.6% as a result.
The European Union’s EU4Business Initiative ultimately serves SMEs as the beneficiaries of EU support in the Eastern Partnership countries — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The programme supports SMEs by improving access to finance, promoting better business regulations, upgrading services to business, and taking advantage of trade opportunities.
