EU and Armenia mark successful completion of phase II Justice Reform Project

On October 13, the European Union Delegation to Armenia, alongside Armenian justice institutions, international partners, and the EU Technical Assistance Team, formally marked the successful conclusion of the EU-funded project, “Support to Justice Sector Reform in Armenia – Phase II.”
Implemented between May 2024 and May 2026, the two-year initiative achieved significant milestones in modernising Armenia’s judicial framework, advancing the rule of law, and fostering institutional capacity.
The project delivered targeted, high-impact capacity development and analytical support across the justice sector. The outcomes of Phase II establish a strong foundation for ongoing institutional growth, moving Armenia closer to a modern, transparent, and citizen-centred justice system. By prioritising rule of law enhancements, anti-corruption initiatives, and the protection of fundamental human rights, the project underscored the shared values driving the EU–Armenia partnership.
While Phase II has officially concluded, European Union officials reaffirmed their long-term commitment to supporting Armenia’s justice sector transformational goals. The cooperation between the EU and Armenia will continue beyond the framework of this project, ensuring sustained momentum toward a fully resilient, accountable, and independent judiciary.
