Khoy Youth Space inaugurated

01/07/2026

KHOY — EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos and Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan officially inaugurated the new Khoy Youth Space, marking a major milestone for youth development in Armenia’s regions.

During the event, Ambassador Maragos emphasised the vital impact of the six youth spaces now established across the Armavir, Shirak, Lori, Syunik, Gegharkunik, and Tavush regions. These centers were created through the “Youth in Action” project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

According to Ambassador Maragos, these newly established centers are designed to operate as “laboratories of democracy.” The spaces aim to provide local youth with a platform to develop crucial life skills, including open dialogue, tolerance, and civic responsibility—values he noted are fundamental to building a strong and resilient Armenia.

Addressing the future of these initiatives, the Ambassador stressed that the long-term operation of all six spaces is legally secured. Every center is backed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed directly with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport.

This official partnership underscores a shared, institutional commitment to ensuring that essential youth services continue to operate smoothly well beyond the conclusion of the initial project period.
