Armenia: EU4Innovation East to host discussion on precision agriculture and biodiversity protection at COP17

26/10/2026

On 28 October, the EU4Innovation East project and the Armenian Institute for Digital Agriculture (AI4DA) will hold a panel discussion on how precision agriculture, drones and biological pest control can help Armenian farmers to protect biodiversity while maintaining productive and competitive farms.

The discussion will focus on how to make these technologies more accessible and economically viable for farmers, including through appropriate policies, financing, skills development and advisory services. Participants will also examine how local agricultural technology start-ups can help bring these solutions to farms.

The panel will be moderated by Vardan Urutyan, founder and CEO of AI4DA. Speakers include Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia; Stéphane Duran, agritech international expert at EU4Innovation East; Seryozha Karapetyan, co-founder and CTO of CropArt; and Syuzanna Sargsyan, co-founder and CEO of AgriBloom Consulting.

The event will take place at 12:15 in the Green Zone of COP17, the UN Biodiversity Conference hosted in Yerevan from 19 to 30 October.
