From Khndzoresk to the market: How a local dairy is lifting up an entire community! | Videostory
For a decade, Mane Grigoryan and her team at Khndzoresk Dairy Products have been dedicated to crafting high-quality, natural dairy products in Armenia’s beautiful Syunik region. But like many rural businesses, expanding meant facing a big hurdle: the need for modern equipment.
To overcome these technical hurdles, Khndzoresk Dairy Products partnered with the R2DSyunik project ( within Resilient Syunik Team Europe Initiative), a co-financed regional development programme.
Through this initaitive, the business received a vital infusion of technical assistance, including state-of-the-art processing equipment valued at €80,000.
The impact of the new machinery was felt almost immediately. In a remarkably short period, the dairy was able to optimise its production efficiency, register higher yields, and introduce a wider variety of specialised dairy products to the market.
The success of Khndzoresk Dairy Products extends far beyond corporate balance sheets. In rural communities, a thriving processing plant acts as an economic anchor for the entire ecosystem. The dairy provides stable, local employment, giving residents an alternative to leaving the region in search of work. The enterprise directly encourages local villagers to sustain and grow their cattle breeding and agricultural operations by providing a reliable marketplace for raw milk. It sustains every euro invested in local processing capacity creating a ripple effect that strengthens the food security and economic resilience of the Syunik region.
Every successful local business means a stronger, brighter future for the region. Watch the video and join us in celebrating Mane and her team’s incredible milestone!
