We are thrilled to shine a spotlight back on a true gem of Armenian tourism: The Legends Trail in Syunik, which is now officially a proud section of the world-renowned Transcaucasian Trail.
About the Trail: this spectacular 150 km long trail winds through the heart of the ruggedly beautiful Syunik region. As you trek, you will traverse more than 30 rural communities across the iconic regions of Goris, Tatev and Kapan.
Tourism with a purpose: the trail’s foundation was laid under the impactful “EU4Tourism: Outdoor adventures on the historic trails in Syunik” project. It wasn’t just built for hikers—it was designed to uplift. The project has been deeply beneficial for the economic and social development of local communities throughout the Syunik region.
Even long after the official programme’s completion, the Legends Trail continues to thrive as a beloved tourist destination. It beautifully weaves together people, places, and ancient cultures, while igniting a shared passion for discovering the beauty of Armenia anew.
