The Media Initiatives Center in Armenia has completed a series of trainings on media literacy in the regions of Armenia with the support of the European Union.<\/p>\n
For three weeks, ten journalists and media experts held meetings and seminars in Gegharkunik, Tavush and Syunik regions with the participation of about 400 people: students, journalists, teachers, entrepreneurs and representatives of local authorities.<\/p>\n
The experts discussed responsible journalism, explained how the media works, how to check facts and not to judge a story by its headline alone, and how to be critical of manipulative emotional narratives and pictures.<\/p>\n
Many of the participants in the programme are willing to share what they have learned by conducting workshops in their communities.<\/p>\n
